Passport control
The United Republic of Tanzania requires visitors to have a passport with a validity of not less than six months.
If you possess an e-passport please proceed to the immigration e-gate. If not, stand in line behind the relevant passport control booth depending on your status, namely; “Residents”, Non-Residents”, “Diplomats”, etc. Make sure you have your passport and boarding pass and other relevant documents within easy reach before you arrive at the passport control booth. Present said documents to the Immigration Officer in attendance. Remove your passport cover (if any) to facilitate a smooth inspection.
Visa
Tanzania has introduced an Electronic Visa Application (E-visa) system through which applications can be submitted and approved online in advance of travel. Visitors are advised to apply for a Visa prior to their travel or get one on arrival at any designated point of entry.
